Peshawar City:

Peshawar, the capital and largest city of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province (KPK) is the city with the most ethnic characteristics in Pakistan. It was designated by King Gandhara I of Gandhara of the Guishuang Dynasty in 58 AD For the capital.

Because it is located on many trade routes in Central Asia, it has been a major trade center between the South Asian subcontinent and Central Asia for many centuries.

History:

The king of the Guishuang Empire, King Giansega, who advocated Buddhism once established the capital here and is one of the centers of Buddhist culture. From the 4th to the 6th centuries, the eminent monk Fa Xian of the Jin Dynasty in China, the emissary Song Yun of the Northern Wei Dynasty and the eminent monk Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty came here one after another. Xuanzang referred to this place as a "luxuriant flower and fruit" abundance in the "Story of the Western Regions of the Tang Dynasty".

Climate:

  In Peshawar, Winter begins in mid-November and ends in late March. Summer is from May to September. The average maximum temperature in summer exceeds 40°C (104°F) and the average minimum temperature is 25°C (77°F) in the hottest month. The average lowest temperature in winter is 4°C (39°F) and the highest is 18.35°C (65.03°F).

Population:

Peshawar is a rapidly developing city. According to 2017 census, Peshawar has a population of over 2 million, making it the sixth-largest city in Pakistan. The current population growth rate is 3.29%, which is an annual average higher than many other Pakistani cities.

Culture:

Peshawar is the center of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa culture. Its culture, after years of development, has been mainly influenced by Ghandhara culture, Pakhtun culture, and Hindko culture. Although Peshawar in our province is located with a population of predominantly Pakhtun but Peshawar itself until the 1980s had a population of native Hindko. These Hindko native speakers are ancient inhabitants of the land. Although Pakhtun and Hindko culture have many things in common, most of the native speakers of Hindko are urban people, and most of the Pakhtuns, until recently, came from a rural background, so these two different customs are in some respects, such as Weddings, lifestyle, etc.

Parks:

  • Army Stadium-Amusement park restaurants, banks, playpens and shopping malls for children and families.
  • Bagh-e-Narayan-located in Hayatabad; the largest and most beautiful Peshawar.
  • Opposite Cunningham Park/Jinnah Park, it is located in the historic Balahisar Fort, close to Asamai Gate and Madame Reading Hospital.
  • Wazir Bagh-Laid in 1802 by Fatteh Khan, Prime Minister Shah Mahmoud Khan.
  • Ali’s Mardan Khan Garden-formerly the company Bagh is now Khalid bin Walid Park.
  • Shahibagh-A small part of it constitutes the Ababniaz Stadium on the current site.

Transportation:

Peshawar Bacha Khan International Airport has 8 airlines operating 13 routes, serving Pakistan’s Chitral, Islamabad, and Karachi, as well as 10 cities in the Arabian Peninsula.

A railway station (by the Ministry of Railways of Pakistan) and links to roads, including major arterial roads and Karakoram Highway, connect Pakistani cities and neighboring countries such as Afghanistan and China by road, rail, and air. In cities, there are several ways to provide tourism including coaches, buses, rickshaws, and taxis.

Sports :

In Peshawar, cricket is the most popular sport. Peshawar is the home of the Peshawar Panthers of the Faisal Bank T20 Cup team. Hockey and squash are other popular sports. Peshwar Zalmi team is part of the Pakistan super league(PSL).
