Brief History of Faisalabad city:
Before independence:
The city was founded by Sir Charles James Lyall, the British Lieutenant
Governor of Punjab, and was originally called Lyall. Before the British turned
this area into a city center, it was mainly composed of villages. However, the
construction of various canals has allowed the area to be irrigated. After the
city is established, if people want to work, they will be invited to the city

The city of Layalpur was established in 1880. Due to its industrial

1904 was upgraded to a municipal committee in 1909, and the deputy district
governor was announced as the first chairman. In 1916, the food market saw a
surge in its stores and customers. In the same year, the Civil Affairs Hospital
was expanded. With the advent of the Second World War, the political awakening
had an impact on the city. Held a revolutionary conference. The fiery speech
has been completed. The slogan was written on the wall.
In 1943, Muhammad Ali Jinnah came to Layalpur and held a gathering of more
than 2 million people in Dobygate. When Pakistan was accepted as an independent
unit, on March 3, 1947, Muslims in Layalpur held a special prayer and distributed
sweets and food to the poor.
Postal independence:
The city has developed into a powerful industrial and agricultural center and is a major urban area, After independence. The
city of Layalpur moved fast on the road of progress. This city, which has been known for its food market, has become a great commercial and
industrial center. In 1901, the population of this city barely touched the figure
of thousands, soaring to millions. The level of medical care and education has
been improved. In 1977, the name of the late King Shah Faisal Bin Abdulaziz of
Saudi Arabia was changed to Faisalabad. In 1985, the city was upgraded to a
branch of the Faisalabad, Jhang, and Tobatek Singh districts.
